Patna : Olympic Champion and World No 17 Carolina Marin, 26, Spain, and teenage sensation from South Korea A N Se Young will clash in the women’s singles final of Yonex French Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 event, at Paris, France, on October 27, 2019. Marin has won 29 career titles while Young has won four.

World No 16 A N Se Young, 17,  South Korea, stunned World No 2 and 2nd seed Akane Yamaguchi, 22, Japan, in straight games 21-17, 23-21 in 51 minutes in semi-finals on October 26, 2019. Young won 44 rallies in the match to 38 by Yamaguchi, the defending Champion. Young won 4 consecutive points in the match to 5 by the Japanese. It was the first meeting between the two players.

Carolina brushed aside World No 1 and reigning Asian Games Champion Tai Tzu Ying, 25, Chinese Taipei, in straight games 21-16, 21-9 in 35 minutes in the semi-finals on October 26, 2019. Carolina won 42 rallies in the match to 25 by top seed Tai Tzu. The Spaniard won 8 consecutive points to 6 by the World No 1. Tzu. Tai still leads Carolina 7-6 Head to Head.
