Patna : Top seed and World Ni 3 Roger Federer, 38, Switzerland, and World No 28 Alex de Minaur, 20, Australia, entered the quarter-finals of Swiss Indoors Basel, an ATP 500 points event, at Basel, Switzerland, on October 23, 2019, late night.

Nine-time champion Federer brushed aside World No 49 Radu Albot, 29, Moldova, 6-0, 6-3 in just 62 minutes in second round winning 5 breabesides winning 3 games in a row points in the match besides winning 8 games in a row. Federer’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 77% & 78 %) was much higher than that of Albot ( 51 % & 39 %). The Swiss star also fired 5 Aces in the match.

Minaur crushed World No 31 Taylor Fritz, 21, USA, in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 in 75 minutes to enter the quarter-finals. Minaur won 4 break points in the match to just 1 by Fritz. He also won 5 games in a row to 2 by the American. Minaur’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 77% & 65 %) was higher than that of Fritz (74 % & 43 %). Fritz though fired 6 Aces in the match to 3 by the Australian.

Minaur will face World No 41 Jan-Lennard Struff, 29, Germany, in QFs on October 25, 2019. Struff beat World No 105 Henri Laaksonen, 27, Switzerland, 6-3, 6-4 in second round on October 24, 2019. Struff fired 12 Aces in the match to just 2 by Laaksonen. The German also won 2 break points in the match besides winning 3 games in a row. Struff won 46 service points in the match to 36 by Laaksonen.
