Momota, Jonatan & Kashyap enters QFs of Korea Open

Patna : Top seed and World No 1 Kento Momota, 24, Japan, World No 30 Parupalli Kashyap, 33, India, World No 6 Jonatan Christie, 22, Indonesia, entered the quarter-finals of Korea Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 event, at Incheon, South Korea, on September 26, 2019.

Reigning World Champion Momota beat World No 133 Kim Dong Hun, 26, South Korea, in straight games 21-12, 21-9 in 31 minutes in second round on September 26 at Incheon Airport Skydome, Incheon, South Korea. Momota won 42 rallies in the match to 21 by Kim. He  won 7 consecutive points in the match to 3 by Kim. It was first match between the two players.

Kashyap beat World No 33 Liew Daren, 32, Malaysia, in a three-game slugfest lasting 56 minutes 21-17, 11-21, 21-12 in second round. Kashyap won 53 rallies in the match to 50 by Daren. Kashyap won 11 consecutive points in the match to 13 by Daren. Kashyap now leads Daren 3-2 Head to Head.

Reigning Asian Games Champion Jonatan Christie beat World No 31 Khosit Phetpradab, 25, Thailand, 21-8, 22-20 in 39 minutes in 2nd round to enter the QFs of the event. Jonatan won 43 rallies in the match to 28 by Phetpradab. Jonatan now leads Phetpradab 6-1 Head to Head.
