Ara : A woman died on September 25, 2019, at flood affected Pirauta village under Ara Block in Bhojpur district, for want of medicare on time. The deceased was identified as Asha Devi, wife of Vinod Prasad, who worked as a cook at Government Abhyasarth Buniyadi Vidyalay, Pirauta.

Village Pirauta has been inundated by river Sone the Bhojpur district administration has failed to manage even a boat for ferrying the flood affected people so far despite several requests though the officials claim that boats, food packets, plastic sheets, candles, matches and medical teams have been provided in all the flood affected areas.

Asha Devi fell ill and villagers rushed her to Ara Sadar Hospital on a cot on their shoulders as no boat was available but she breathed her last on way to hospital.

Former Mukhia Pirauta Panchayat Bijay Yadav said that he had repeatedly urged Bhojpur district administration to provide boats, team of doctors, fodder for cattle and other things but to no avail. On the other hand, he said , social workers and some youth of the village are in action round the clock arranging for food, medicines, fodder and other for the flood affected people.
