Muzaffarpur : CM Nitish Kumar was on September 24, 2019, afternoon, shown black flag while ink was thrown on his carcade near Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) by around a dozen persons belonging to ‘Garib Jankranti Party’ (GJP) in Muzaffarpur District in North Bihar. CM Nitish Kumar had gone to SKMCH to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various projects worth Rs 105 crore.

Around 12 persons belonging to ‘Garib Jankranti Party’ suddenly appeared and showed black flag to the CM besides throwing ink on his carcade. They also raised anti-government slogans after seeing the CM’s convoy. We will continue to hold such protest till things are improved at SKMCH, where people especially poor come from far-flung area for treatment but there is no facility at all at the hospital,” said  GJP  president Vikas Krishna. Two persons were taken into custody in connection with the incident, police sources said adding both belonged to the Garib Jankranti Party.

The CM laid the foundation stone for 100-bed Paediatric ICU (PICU) besides starting the work for strengthening internal water supply system. He also inaugurated a building for 100-bed maternal and child unit at SKMCH, which had hit the headline in June 2019 when over 100 children had died due to suspected cases of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES). He also inaugurated a building for 100-bed maternal and child unit at SKMCH. The construction of PICU will be completed in 8 months.

Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Urban Development Minister Suresh Kumar Sharma, Industry Minister and Minister  Incharge Muzaffarpur District Shyam Rajak, Ajay Nishad and Veena Devi, both MPs, Ashok Kumar Singh, Baby Kumari, Kedar Gupta, all MLAs, Devesh Chandra Thakur, MLC, Muzaffarpur Mayor Suresh Kumar, Principal, SKMCH, Dr Vikas Kumar, and Superintendent, SKMCH, Dr Sunil Kumar Shahi, were also present on the occasion.
