Patna : Australia were 201/8 in their first innings in the third session of the play on Day 2 in the 5th Ashes Test against England at Kennington Oval, London, with fast bowler Jofra Archer taking 4/48 in 20 overs and fellow fast bowler Sam Curran taking 3/46 in 17 ovders. Chris Woakes has taken 1/30. fast bowler Peter Siddle is batting on 12 while spinner Nathan Lyon is batting on 8. Steven Smith scored 80 runs.

Australia made a disastrous start to their first innings losing their first two wicket for just 14 runs on board. Both the openers : David Warner (5) and Marcus Harris (3), fell to Jofra Archer. Warner’s poor form continues. He has scored just 84 runs in this series. But, Marnus Labuschagne and Steven Smith steadied the innings with a 69 run stand for the 3rd wicket. Labuschagne fell to Archer for 48 in 84 balls with 10 fours making it 83/3.

Matthew Wade fell to Sam Curran for 19 with 2 fours making it 118/4 . Mitchell Marsh fell to Archer for 17 and it was 160/5. Tim Paine ( captain & wk) fell to Curran for 1 making it 166/6. Fast bowler Pat Cummins also fell to Curran for zero and it was 166/7. Smith fell to Chris Woakes for 80 in 145 balls with 9 fours and a six and it was 187/8. England were all out for 294 runs in their first innings.
