Patna : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on August 14, 2019, felicitated here three farmers, who had recently found a suspected meteorite while working in the fields at their village, at Bihar Museum where the celestial object weighing 13 kg has been kept for public display. 
The three farmers : Rajkumar Prasad, Bihari Yadav and Rajkumar Khatwe, were presented with Angavastram and mementos by CM Nitish Kumar. They had found the object, which looks like an ordinary piece of rock but has magnetic properties, at their village Mahadeva under Laukahi police station in Madhubani district on July 22, 2019.

The object was taken out from a five feet deep hole in the ground after the three farmers rushed to the spot hearing a loud thud. The district authorities were informed about the object after which the suspected meteorite was brought to the state capital and kept at Bihar Museum.
