Patna : BJP Government in Karnataka headed by B S Yediyurappa, 76, won the Confidence Motion in the Assembly on July 29, 2019, by voice vote proving its majority in the House. The Congress-JD(S) combine did not press for division as the numbers favoured the Yediyurapp Government. The Confidence Motion was moved by CM Yediyurappa.

The effective strength of the House was reduced to 208 after disqualification of 17 rebel Congress -JD(S) MLAs by the Speaker. The BJP has 105 Members in the House. One Independent MLA also supports the government.
