Querrey to face Fabbiano in SFs of Nature Valley International

Gurugram ( Haryana) : World No 31 Kyle Edmund, UK, World No 42 Taylor Fritz, USA, World No 79 Sam Querrey, USA, and World No 102 Thomas Fabbiano, Italy, advanced to the semi-finals of Nature Valley International, Eastbourne, UK, an ATP World Tour 250 points grass courts tournament.

Third seed Edmund beat World No 65 Danial Evans, UK, in three sets 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in 1 hr 48 minutes in the quarter-finals on June 27 evening. Both the players won three break points each. Evans, however, won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Edmund.

Fritz beat World No 52 Hubert Hurkacz, 22, Poland, 6-4, 7-6 in the quarter-finals. Fritz won 2 break points to 1 by Hurkacz. Hurkacz though fired 9 Aces in the match to 6 by Fritz. The American won 57 service points to 51 by Hurkacz. Fritz will face Edmund in the semi-finals on June 28, 2019, at 8.20 pm.

Fabiano beat 6th seed and World No 25 Gilles Simon, France, 6-4, 6-3 in the QFs. The Italian won 4 break points to just 1 by Simon. Both the players won 35 service points each in the match. Fabiano won 3 games in a row to 2 by Simon.

Querrey beat 5th seed and World No 36 Fernando Verdasco, 35, Spain, 7-6, 6-2 in 1 hr 36 minutes in the quarter-finals. Querrey won 2 break points to none by the Spaniard. Verdasco though fired 17 Aces in the match to 7 by Querrey, who won 5 games in a row in the match. Querrey will face Fabiano in the SFs on June 28 at 7 pm.
