Bertens, Kerber & Jabeur enters SFs of Nature Valley International

Gurugram ( Haryana) : World No 4 Kiki Bertens, Netherlands, World No 5 and reigning Wimbledon champion  Angelique Kerber, 31, Germany, and World No 62 Ons Jabeur, Tunisia, entered the semi-finals of Nature Valley International, Eastbourne, UK, on June 27, 2019, evening.

Third seed Bertens beat World No 10 Aryna Sabalenka, 21, Belarus, in a three-set thriller 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in the quarter-finals on June 27. Bertens won 4 break points to 3 by Sabalenka. Bertens fired 6 Aces in the match to 3 by Sabalenka.

Fourth seed Kerber beat World No 7 Simona Halep. Romania, the 6th seed, in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in 71 minutes in the quarter-finals. Kerber won 5 break points in the match to 2 by Halep. The German also won 4 games in a row to 2 by Halep, a former World No 1.

World No 62 Ons Jabeur, 24, Tunisia, beat World No 55 Alize Cornet, 29, France, 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 in 2hr 4 minutes in the quarter-finals to reach the SFs. Jabeur will face Kerber in the SFs on June 28, 2019.
