Gurugram ( Haryana) : Replying to Australia’s 285/7, England were 207/8 after 42 overs in the 32nd match of CWC at Lord’s, London, with all-rounder Ben Stokes scoring 89 in 115 balls hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes. Chasing a target of 287, England lost their first four wickets including that of captain Eoin Morgan (4)  and Joe Root( 8) for just 53 runs.

Opener Jonny Bairstow (27) and Eoin Morgan got out playing ambitious shots, which they could have very well have avoided.  Jos Buttler ( wk) scored 25 while Moeen Ali made 6. Chris Woakes scored 26 and was the 8th England wicket to fall. Adil Rashid was batting on 8.

For Australia, Jason Behrendorff had taken 4/37 while Mitchell Starc had taken 3/32. Marcus Stoinis had taken one wicket.
