Bagaha : The Sojhi Ghat bridge over river Haraha is in such a dilapidated state that people of Chamawalia, Banchahari, Borawal, and Mahipur Bhataura panchayats have to take a detour of 13 km to reach Bagaha police station and Bagaha Town in West Chamaparn district. The Iron bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 69 lakh with financial assistance from National Bank For Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in 2006, is about 200 feet long and 10 feet wide.

Alarmed over condition of the bridge, MLA from Bagaha R S Pandey, in a communication to district administration, recently said that  the bridge was in need of urgent repair. The locals have also resorted to agitation several times demanding immediate repair of the bridge but to no avail so far.

Jai Yadav, Kedar Yadav, and Kapil Deo Pandey said that that one Rinku Paswan, son of Pramod Paswan, died during monsoon in 2018 when his legs slipped while crossing over the bridge. Even plying of light vehicles on the bridge may cause major mishap. A social worker Ramesh Fauji has threatened to stage indefinite fast if the bridge is not repaired at the earliest.
