Last rites of Martyr Chhotu Kumar performed at his native village in Bhojpur

Ara : The last rites of  martyr Chhotu Kumar, 23,  was performed at his native village  Nausetadh Mathia under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on June 20, 2019, morning, amidst slogan of  “Chhotu Kumar Amar Rahe”.

A pall of gloom descended at the village as the news of his death reached there. Hundreds of villagers, sympathisers, relatives, and acquaintances assembled at the place where his last rites were performed with full state honour. The villagers lost their temper at the insult of martyr when they saw that the body of the martyr was brought over in ordinary vehicle and they shooed them away when the political leaders and officials of Bhojpur district reached Nausetadh village to pay their tributes to the departed soul.

Chhotu Kumar is survived by his mother, father, and two brothers : Ramesh Kumar and Ganesh Kumar. Both his brothers are married while Chhotu Kumar was still unmarried. He had come to his village on leave and had returned on June 7, 2019, after spending one month with his family members.

Chhotu Kumar alias Chhotu Lal Yadav, youngest son of a farmer Dinanath Yadav of Nausetadh Mathia, had joined army in the  2015 and was posted at Kupwada in Jammu & Kashmir where he along with others was killed in a terrorist attack on June 17, 2019, night. He had talk with his sister-in-law and nephew around 9pm on June 17, 2019, and promised to talk to them the next day but in the morning next day the news of his death reached. His body reached his village around  midnight on June 19, 2019.

Dinanath Yadav, father of the martyr, said that he was willing to send his second son to the army as well for the security of the motherland.
