Muzaffarpur : Eleven children have died during last three days in Muzaffarpur district due to convulsion and high fever. Altogether 16 children have died due to convulsion and high fever in the district so far in June. Fourteen children are undergoing treatment at different hospitals at Muzaffarpur.

Head of Paedeatrics Department, Sri Krishna Medical College & Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, Dr Gopal Sahni, said that two children died due to Encephalitis at the hospital on June 6. All the suspected cases of Encephalitis are being treated as per guidelines, he said. According to sources, three children died due to Encephalitis at SKMCH while two died at private Kejriwal Hospital, Muzaffarpur, during last 36 hours.
