Patna : Australia made a strong comeback to post 288 all out in 49 overs against West Indies (WI) after being reduced to 79/5 in 16.1 overs in the 10th match of ICC World Cup at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, UK, on June 6, 2019, with fast bowler Nathan Coulter Nile (NCN) launching a counter attack to score 92 in 60 balls hitting 8 fours and 4 sixes, his highest score for Australia. He added 102 runs with Steven Smith, who scored 73 in 103 balls with 7 fours, for 7th wicket.

Smith added 68 runs for 6th wicket with Alex Carey (wk), who scored 45. Smith fell to an outstanding catch by Sheldon Cottrell off the bowling of fast bowler Oshane Thomas. Cottrell caught the bowl running one handed, threw it up in air, crossed over the ropes, and returned to take back the catch. Smith could not believe his eyes.

For West Indies, Carlos Brathwaite took 3/67 in 10 overs while Oshane Thomas, Sheldon Cottrell, and Andre Russel took two wickets each. Captain Jason Holder took one wicket.

In reply, WI were 12/1 after 3 overs.
