Ara : Bhojpur police and a Patna STF team, with the help of their East Champaran counterpart, arrested two contract killers carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 each on their head, from Chhitauni, Motihari, on May 22, 2019 and brought them over to Ara on May 23, 2019.
Police sent the two arrested contract killers jail after interrogation. The arrested contract killers were identified as Prakash Chaudhary of village Belaur under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district and Neeraj alias Nepali of village Lodipur nder Chandi police station in Bhojpur district. They had gone to Motihari to kill a person.
Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar on May 23 said that Prakash Chaudhary and Neeraj alias Nepali, who are said to be sharpshooters of a dreaded criminal lodged in Ara jail, Ranjeet Chaudhary, took contract to kill a person in Motihari and had gone to Motihari to kill that person. The SP said further said that they had become terror for coaching institute owners, businessmen, mobile phone sellers, medicine shop owners demanding ‘Rangdari’ (extortion amount) from them on WhatsApp. He stated that they had long criminal history and had become a problem for the police for the last two years.
The SP said that at least 15 cases of murder and extortion had been lodged against Prakash Chaudhary while 12 cases of the same nature had been lodged against Neeraj alias Nepali with different police stations in Bhojpur and Patna district. The SP said that the police would take them on remand for further interrogation.
