Patna : Eight Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) of of Bihar will go to polls in Phase-7 of General Elections on May 19, 2019. The 8 PCs of Bihar going to polls on May 19 are : Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, Sasaram, Karakat, and Jahanabad.

Altogether 157 candidates including 20 female candidates are in fray for these 8 Lok Sabha seats. Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, Karakat, and Jahanabad PCs are General Seats while Sasaram PC is reserved for SC. As per the data issued by CEO Bihar, there are total 15252608 voters in these 8 PCs of which 8095447 are males, 7156660 females and 501 third gender voters. They will exercise their franchise at 15,811 polling stations set up in this phase of elections in Bihar, according to a PIB release.

There are 35 candidates including three females in the ring for the Nalanda seat. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has set up 2,248 polling booths in Nalanda PC. In Patliputra PC, 25 candidates including 4 women are in fray. The ECI has set up 2,050 polling booths in Patliputra PC. In Patna Sahib, 18 candidates including 3 females are in fray while in Ara PC 11 candidates are in fray. The ECI has set up 2,007 polling booths in Patna Sahib PC and 2,162 polling booths in Ara PC.

In Buxar PC, 15 candidates are in contest and the ECI has set up the ECI has set up 1,856 polling booths in the constituency. In Sasaram, 13 candidates including 3 females are in fray and the ECI has set up 1,927 polling booths there. In Karakat PC, 27 candidates including 5 females are in the ring and the ECI has set up 1,869 polling booths there. In Jehanabad PC, 13 candidates including 2 females are in fray and the ECI has set up 1,692 polling booths in the constituency.
