Patna : AN Se Young, 17, South Korea, has jumped 28 places to be ranked World No 50 in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on May 7, 2019. Young had won New Zealand Open singles title on May 5, 2019, defeating 2012 London Olympic Gold Medallist Li Xuerui, 28, China, in straight games.  Li Xuerui has jumped 3 places to be ranked World No 12 in BWF rankings with 54,532 points after reaching the final of New Zealand Open.

Tai Tzu Ying, Taiwan, remains World No 1 with 95,667 points while Noxomi Okuhara, Japan, is World No 2 with 88,800 points. Chen Yufei, China, is World No 3 with 87,979 points while Akane Yamaguchi, Japan, is World No 4 with 86,723 points . P V Sindhu, India, is World No 5 with 76,740 while Saina Nehwal, India, remains World No 9 with 67,874 points.

Chiang Ying Li, Taiwan, has jumped 6 places to be ranked World No 54 with 26,529 points while Minatsu Mitani, Japan, has slipped 17 places to be ranked World No 58 with 25,860 points while Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka, I ndia, has slipped 4 places to be ranked World No 70 with 22,805 points. Mugdha Agrey, India, has slipped 2 places to be ranked World No 67 with 22,970 points while Rituparna Das, India, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 68 with 22,930 points.

Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli, India, Riya Mookeree, India, have jumped one places each to be ranked World No 79 and World No 80 respectively.
