Raxaul ( Motihari) :  The Government Railway  Police (GRP) personnel in East Champaran district on May 6, 2019, arrested a Nepali citizen  Sahil Alam and seized Nepali currencies 1135400 lakh  kept in bag from his possession when he was  getting out from the western gate of Raxaul railway station circulating area on Indo-Nepal border.

SHO, Raxaul GRP, Anil Kumar said that police are on alert in view of the Lok Sabha upcoming elections and searching every  suspicious looking person. Police nabbed Sahil Alam on suspicion  and seized huge Nepali currencies from his possession, the SHO said. He said that Alam revealed that one Amar Kumar of Sikata had given him the bag containing cash to deliver it to a
person at Raxaul . The seized money was handed over to the Income-tax (I-T) department officials by the police.

In another development, Customs sleuths seized 80 kg Ganga from a car on Matri bridge. Santosh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Customs, Raxaul Check-post, said that the Customs sleuths, on a tip off,  intercepted
a car on Matri bridge over river Sarisawa connecting India and Nepal and recovered 80 kg of  Ganja  worth Rs 15 lakh. The occupants of car fled away towards Nepal territory.
