Ara : A named FIR has been lodged by Sikarhatta police station in Bhojpur district against four persons:  Mahesh Chaudhary, Dharmendra Chaudhary, Srinath Nat, and Pintu Mahto of village Dev, in connection with the murder of Aniruddh Singh of village Chanda after kidnapping him and later burying him, on the statement of Rahul Kumar Singh, son of the deceased. The  FIR was lodged on April 24, 2019, evening.

SHO Sikarhatta police station, quoting the FIR, said that the named accused had kidnapped Aniruddh Singh on April 17, 2019, and killed him. Later they buried him to erase evidence. The SHO said that after recovery of the mutilated body of Aniruddh Singh from the outskirts of village Dev on April 24, 2019, morning, the villagers went on rampage and set abaze about 40 shops, houses, three motorcycles and also blocked Kurmuri-Tarari main road near Dev village with the body. When the police tried to persuade them to remove blockade, they also pelted the cops with stones.

Rahul Kumar Singh said that a liquor smuggler of Dev village was arrested on the information of his father and people of Dev and Chanda villages had also fought over cattle theft recently. He said the named accused killed his father over the issue. He said that when he and other villagers got the body of Aniruddha Singh, the named accused arrived with arms and threatened them with dire consequences.

The SHO said that Rahul Kumar Singh too had criminal background was absconding for long. Four months ago he was arrested with pistol and was sent to jail. He is on bail, the SHO said.. He said that police would arrest the miscreants at the earliest.
