Squall, hailstorm lash Sitamarhi dist,. damage crops

Sitamarhi :  Squall, hailstorm, and rain lashed Sitamarhi district on April 16, 2019,  evening causing massive loss to habitation and standing crops. Wheat, Mango, and Litchi are  the worst affected while thatched and asbestos roofs suffered extensive  damage.

Hails weighing around .150 gm lashed five blocks including Dumra in Sitamarhi district. Several trees have been uprooted.
Sitamarhi DM M Ramchandrudu has directed the agriculture department officials to assess the  damage to the  crops and fruits and prepare a list accordingly within three days.
Meanwhile, the meteorological department has forecast  thunderstorm and lightening in next 24 hours.
