All 260 constituent colleges in Bihar gear up for NAAC Accreditation, get AISHE-ID

Patna : All the 12 State Universities and 260 constituent colleges falling under their jurisdiction have received All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE)-ID for National Assessment and Accrediation Council (NAAC) Accreditation. NAAC is an organisation that assesses and accredits institutions of higher education in India. It is an autonomous body funded by the UGC.

The Governor’s Secretariat has now directed all the universities and all the 260 constituent colleges to submit Institutional Infrastructure Quality Assessment (IIQA) and Self Study Report (SSR) to the authorities concerned at the earliest. Altogether 37 constituent colleges have so far submitted IIQA while 13 constituent colleges have also submitted even SSR for NAAC Accreditation.

Bihar Governor cum Chancellor of State Universities Lalji Tandon, at the meeting of VCs held at Raj Bhavan on March 14, 2019, had directed all the universities and constituent colleges to get AISHE-ID by March 31, 2019, for NAAC Accreditation. It was found during review that only 136 constituent colleges had received AISHE-ID till March 14, 2019. It may be mentioned here that out of 260 constituent colleges in the state, only 95 have got NAAC Accreditation so far.

According to the Governor’s Secretariat release, 43 constituent colleges under Lalit Narain Mithila University (LNMU), Darbhanga, 17 constituent colleges under Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, 39 constituent colleges under BRABU, Muzaffarpur, 12 constituent colleges under Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), Bhagalpur, 25 constituent colleges under Patliputra University, Patna, 19 constituent colleges under Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, 9 constituent colleges under Patna University, Patna, 13 constituent colleges under Purnia University, Purnia, 14 constituent colleges under Bhupendra Narain Mandal University (BNMU), Madhepura, 17 constituent colleges under Munger University, Munger, and 31 constituent colleges under Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University, Dabhanga, and 21 constituent colleges under Jai Prakash University, Chhapra, have received AISHE-ID for NAAC Accreditation.

To expedite the NAAC Accreditation work, a workshop for all the VCs, Principals of all the 260 constituent colleges, Registrars of the all the universities as well as Nodal officers concerned on April 4 & 5, 2019, at Raj Bhavan on the directive of the Governor.
