Four persons killed, 2 injured in Bhojpur as Scorpio falls into ditch

Ara : Four persons including nephew of a former Ward Councillor were killed and two others injured when a speeding Scorpio overturned into a ditch near Kayamnagar under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district in the afternoon on March 21, 2019.

Police brought the bodies over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. The doctors at Ara Sadar Hospital referred the injured persons to Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of their serious condition after first aid. SDO, Ara, and SDPO and other senior officials rushed to the hospital.

The deceased were identified as Abhishek Kumar Upadhayay alias Mikku Upadhayay of village Khanet under Pawana police station and  nephew of former Ward Councillor Amrendra Choubey, Prakash Rai of village Bhadwar under Chandi police station, Sonu Kumar of Anand Nagar under Nawada police station, Ara, and Raja Kumar of Moti Tola locality under Ara Town police station while the injured were identified as Amarjeet Singh of Anand Nagar and Vikas Kumar of Moti Tola.

SHO, Koelwar police station, said that six youth from Ananad Nagar locality under Nawada police station had gone to Kulharia under Koelwar police station in a Scorpio to take petrol. While returning, the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle fell into a ditch near Kanayamnagar locality under Koelwar police station on Ara-Patna main road in which four persons including the driver were killed and two others were seriously injured.

In another incident, a youth was killed when a generator vehicle turned turtle near village Kulharia under Koelwar police station on March 22, 2019, morning. The police brought the body over to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The identity of the deceased is still to be ascertained.

In yet another incident, the Government Rail police, Ara, recovered body of an unidentified youth from the rail track near Ara railway station on March 21, 2019, late evening.
