Prohibitory Order enforced in W Champaran district : DM

Bettiah :West Dhamparan District Magistrate cum Returning Officer (RO) of Valmikinagar and Paschimi Champaran  parliamentary constituencies Nilesh Ramchandra Deore on March 11, 2019, during his first press meet in connection with 2019 LS polls, said that Section 144 of CrPC has been enforced in the entire area from March 11 to May 27, 2019, and Model Code of Conduct has also come into force.

The DM said that the election to Valmikinagar and Paschimi Champaran constituencies will be held in the 6th phase on May 12, 2019, the notification will be issued on April 16, 2019. SP, West Champaran, Jayant Kant said  that altogether 550 miscreants had already were arrested and Model Code of Conduct will be strictly forcefully implemented to hold fair, free and peaceful elections.

The Returning Officer said  that on the directions of the Supreme  Court, candidates having criminal  background will have to fill up form C-1 and publish the same in daily newspapers and show them on TV channels.
