Saharsa : The residents of village Khajuri under Baidyanathpur Police Outpost in Saharsa district blocked Saharsa – Madhepura main road (NH-107) for hours on March 7, 2019, after death of a child, son of Shravan Kumar, within 20 hours of immunisation.

The child was administered anti-polio drops at an Aanganwadi Centre at 8 am on March 6, 2019, and died at 4 am on March 7. The villagers were demanding adequate compensation to the parents of the child. Civil Surgeon, Saharsa, visited the spot and said appropriate action would be taken after an inquiry. The Civil Surgeon said that generally immunisation does not cause death yet an inquiry would be held into the incident.
