Bandh call given by Samvidhan Bachao Sangharsh Samiti evokes good response

Ara : Bhojpur bandh called by the “Samvidhan Bachao Sangharsh Samiti” in protest against implementation of 13 point roster by the Union Government evoked good response on March 5, 2019. The bandh was supported by the RJD, Rashtirya Lok Samata Party, All India Students Association (AISA), Bheem Sena.

The bandh supporters took out processions from different points in Bhojpur district and forced the traders and businessmen to down their shutters. At Ara, the bandh supporters took out procession that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and reached Ara railway station where they stopped the 19421 Ahamadabad-Patna Express for about half an hour. They squatted on railway track and also boarded the rail engine raising slogans against the Central government. They also had a tiff and scuffle with the police personnel at Ara railway station when they tried to clear the railway track. As a result, a number of long distance trains remained stranded at different railway stations under Danapur Division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur.

Almost all the schools, business establishments, petrol pumps, cinema halls and colleges remained closed and attendance in government offices and court was thin.

The bandh supporters also blocked Ara-Patna, Ara-Buxar, Ara-Mohania, Ara-Sasaram, Ara-Sahar main road besides roads at Piro, Sandesh, Sahar, Barahara, Shahpur, Bihia, Koelwar, Agiaw, Gadhani, Jagdishpur, Shivganj, Dhobi ghatawa, Tribhuwani trijunction, Karman Tola, Badi Mathia, Patel Bus Stand. They burnt tyres and paralysed movement of vehicles. Plying of vehicles on almost all the roads had come a stand still since morning though some light vehicles were seen plying on roads. The bandh supporters said that they protest the implementation of 13 point roster system of SC/ST and backward classes in the appointment of teachers in the University which is against the interest of SC/ST and backward class people.
