Patna : Guido Pella, 28, Argentina, beat Christian Garin, 22, Chile, 7-5, 6-3 in the final to win the Brasil Open, an ATP World Tour 250 points clay court tournament, title at Sao Paulo, Brazil, on March 3, 2019, his first ATP title. Pella has jumped 14 places to be ranked World No 34 after winning the Brasil Open title. Garin has jumped 20 places in the ATP rankings to be ranked World No 72 by reaching the final of the tournament.

Pella fired 8 Aces in the match to 5 by Garin. Pella broke Garin’s service 4 times in the match while the latter broke his service only once. Pella also won 4 games in a row in the match. Pella’s winning percentage on his second serve ( 64%) was much better than that of Garin (32%). Garin committed 4 double faults to 2 by Pella. Pella had defeated World No 32 Laslo Djere, 23, Serbia, in the semi-finals.
