World No 77 Hurkacz stuns top seed Nishikori in Dubai Tennis Championship

Patna : World No 77 in ATP rankings Hubert Hurkacz, 22, Poland, stunned top seed and World No 6 Kei Nishikori, 29, Japan, in three-sets in the second to enter the quarter-finals of Dubai Tennis Championship, an ATP World Tour 500 points tournament played on hard courts, at Dubai, UAE, on February 27, 2019.

Hurkacz beat Nishikori 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 in the Round of 16 in 2hr 3 minutes. Hurkacz fired 9 Aces in the match to just 1 by Nishikori. Hurkacz broke Nishikori’s service 6 times while the latter broke his service 4 times. Nishikori committed 4 double faults to 1 by Kurkacz. Hurkacz’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 66% & 59 %) was better than that of Nishikori ( 63% & 57%). Both the players won 4 games each in a row in the match.
