Patna : India scored 190/4 in the 2nd T20I against Australia at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on February 27, 2019, with captain Virat Kohli scoring an unbeaten 72 in 38 balls with 2 fours and 6 sixes, his 20th fifty plus score in T20Is equalling the record of Rohit Sharma, Lokesh Rahul 47 in 26 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes, and wicketkeeper M S Dhoni 40 in 23 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan fell to Jason Behrendorff for 14 in 24 balls with 1 four while Rishabh Pant fell to part-time spinner D’ Arcy Short for 1.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan and Lokesh Rahul added 61 runs for the first wicket. Rahul hit fast bowler Jhye Richardson for two consecutive sixes in the 5th over of the match. He then hit fast bowler Pat Cummins for two consecutive sixes in the 6th over. Rahul fell to Nathan Coulter- Nile (NCN) making it 61/1. Soon, Dhawan fell to Behrendorff making it 70/2. Kohli and Dhoni then added 100 run for the 4th wicket. Kohli hit NCN for 3 consecutive sixes in the 16th over. Earlier, Kohli had hit Richardson for 6 in the 15th and 19th over. He also hit Pat Cummins for a six on the last ball of the 20th over. Dhoni hit D Arcy Shot for 2 sixes in the 18th over. Dhoni had also hit him for a six in the 13th over. Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten on 8 in 3 balls with 2 fours.

Chasing a target of 191, Australia were 13/1 after 2.2 overs. Opener Marcus Stoinis fell to Siddarth Kaul for 7.
