Vigilance team arrests BEO, Ramnagar, Vijay K Verma, accepting bribe

Bagaha : A Vigilance Investigation Bureau team on February 26, 2019, morning, arrested Block Education  Officer (BEO), Ramnagar in West Champaran district, Vijay Kumar Verma, from his residence at Sabuni under Ramnagar police station accepting Rs 36,000 as bribe from Headmaster, Government Primary School (North), Khajuria, Manindar Kumar Ram.

BEO Verma had allegedly demanded Rs 40,000 from Headmaster Ram, who lodged complaint with the Vigilance Bureau, which after verifying the allegation, laid a trap and arrested BEO Verma around 7 am on February 26 accepting Rs 36,000 from Headmaster Ram. The Vigilance Bureau team was led by DSP Mohd. Zameeruddin, and comprised Inspector Mithilesh Kumar Jaiswal and Rajiv Mishra. The Vigilance Bureau team took Verma to the designated Vigilance Court soon after his arrest.
