Trader shot dead by bike borne criminals near Youth Hostel, Patna

Patna :  Two bike borne criminals gunned down a top trader of the city Puroshottam Das Gupta near Youth Hostel on Frazer Road under Gandhi Maidan police station, Patna, on February 23, 2019, evening. Gupta is owner of Pal Sweets located on Dakbunglow rounabout and the incident took place when Gupta, who was carrying cash, was on way to his Daldali locality residence on his bike.
As Gupta reached near Youth Hostel, two criminals riding a overtook him and forced him to stop his bike. The criminals started snatching Gupta’s bag and when the latter resisted their loot bid, they opened fire on him with bullet
hitting his chest. The criminals then sped away from there on their bike.
On getting information, senior police officials reached the spot. Police recovered empty cartridges from the spot. A critically Gupta was rushed to PMCH where the attending doctors declared him brought dead. As the news of Gupta’s death reached his house in Daldali locality, his family member reached PMCH.
