Patna : West Indies (WI) defeated England by 26 runs in 2nd ODI at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, on February 22, 2019, late night, with Shimron Hetmyer, 22, scoring an unbeaten 104 in 83 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes, hid 4th ODI ton, and opener Chris Gayle scoring 50 in 63 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes. Hetmyer was named Player of the Match.

Wicketkeeper Shai Hope scored 33 in 45 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes while Carlos Brathwaite made 13 with a six. With the West Indies winning the 2nd ODI, the five-match series is now level 1-1. England had won the toss but opted to bowl. Batting first, West Indies scored 289/6 in 50 overs.

Chasing a target of  290, England were all out for 263 with all-rounder Ben Stokes scoring 79 in 85 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and captain Eoin Morgan scoring 70 in 83 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Joe Root scored 36 in 40 balls with 6 fours while wicketkeeper Jos Buttler scored 34 in 33 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow scored 2 and zero respectively.

For West Indies, Sheldon Cottrell took 5/46 while captain Jason Holder took 3/53. Oshane Thomas and Carlos Brathwaite took one wicket each.
