Saharsa : Artist of an orchestra party Madhu alias Akriti, a resident of Saharsa town, was killed in pleasuring firing by a man in drunken state a wedding ceremony at village Veeratpur under Sonbersa Raj police station in Saharsa district at 3.30 am on February 21, 2019. The incident took place during the wedding ceremony of sister of Ashish Singh of the village.
DSP, Saharsa, Mridula Kumar while confirming the death of the dancer in the firing, said police were investigating into the incident. The accused would be identified and arrested at the earliest, the DSP said. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital, Saharsa, for post-mortem.
The host had allegedly booked an orchestra party ‘Night Queen’ for the entertainment of the Baaratis. The kin of the deceased said that one Dilip Yadav had booked the orchestra party. During the programme, some people resorted to pleasure firing in the air while boozing. One of the bullet hit the dancer in the head. She was rushed to Ayush Nursing Home, Saharsa, in a critical condition. But, she died there during treatment.
