Ara : Chunni Devi alias Gudia Devi was killed at her in-laws’ place at village Parasiya under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district on February 20, 2019,  for a colour TV and a motorcycle. Later, the body was disposed of secretly. A named FIR has been lodged with Jagdishpur police station against five persons including her husband, father-in-law, and brother-in-law on the statement of her mother Duleshwari Devi.

Quoting the FIR, SHO, Jagdishpur police station, said that Chunni Devi alias Gudia Devi, daughter of Alagu Tatya of village Barisawan under Shahpur police station, was married to Pawan Prasad, son of Ram Jaspreet Prasad of village Parasiya under Jagdishpur police station in 2011. One year after the marriage, her in-laws started torturing her for a colour TV and a motorcycle and when their demands were not fulfilled, they alleged killed Chunni Deiv and also disposed of the body in a haste to erase evidence. Police are yet to arrest the accused.
