Ara : Two groups of Saraswati Puja Samiti clashed at Chandi under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district and exchanged fire on February 11, 2019. Rajat Kumar, 18, son of Jitendra Singh of village Chandi was seriously injured in the clash and was admitted to Sadar Hospital, Ara, where his condition is stated to be critical.
Bhojpur district has banned playing of Disc Jockey (DJ) during the puja celebration but the recalcitrant puja organisers played the DJ at deafening volume right under the nose of the police administration on February 10.
Since February 11 morning, immersion processions were taken in different parts of Bhojpur district playing of DJ at high pitch though police force was escorting every procession.
