DGP warns police officials of action if their links with liquor, drug mafias is proved

Ara : Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey on February 8, 2019, warned police officials of all ranks of stern action if their links with criminals, Ganja, liquor, drug mafias is proved. The DGP held a meeting with all the police officials of Bhojpur district to review policing at the office of SP, Bhojpur, and directed them to arrest and take stern action against the criminals, Ganja, liquor and drug mafias and asked them not to hesitate to get into an encounter with the criminals if they fire on police.

The DGP said that Chowkidars are the most important wing of information and so they should be given proper treatment. He directed Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar to hold meeting of Chowkidars at least once in two months as they could give most important information helping police in maintaining law and order more efficiently.

The DGP appealed the people and even the mediapersons to inform him directly unbiased information regarding crime and said police would certainly take action against the criminals. He said if the people cooperate with police in maintaining law and order, dream of a crime free new Bihar would be realised very soon.  He also asked police personnel to highlight positive things about police along with negativities. DGP Pandey said that he is going to form a DG Cell and direct action would be taken from there if people provided important unbiased information with proof.

The DGP said that ban on liquor had improved social status of people though it was still being sold sotto voce allegedly in connivance with some police personnel and warned such police officials of stern action. He added with the ban on liquor number of heinous crime had come down rapidly. He said that people should not doubt the intention of police and urged them to refrain from resorting to unlawful acts.

The DGP said that the senior officials of the district should conduct raids and added now police would give befitting reply to the criminals. He said that police never plans encounter but encounter happen if criminals fire on police force.He said that 754 of 1,100 of police stations in Bihar had their new buildings on their land and the rest would be built during his tenure. The DGP said that police stations in rural areas have two vehicles while those in urban areas have 4 vehicles.

DGP Pandey added that female police personnel now account for 37 % of police force and police are keeping close watch on women safety.
