Patna : Ravindra Kumar, a 1984 batch IPS officer who retired in the DG rank, was on February 7, 2019, appointed Chairperson of Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) for a period of five years or attaining the age of 65 years, whichever comes earlier.The General Administration Department issued a notification to this effect on February 7.

Ravindra Kumar has replaced Sanjiv Kumar Sinha, a 1986 batch IAS officer, who was on February 6, 2019, appointed Chief Enquiry Commissioner, General Administration Department.

Ravindra Kumar retired on October 31, 2018, as DG cum Civil Defence Commissioner, Bihar, with additional charge of DG, Vigilance.
