Woman killed for protesting hubby’s relation with another woman

Ara : Seema Singh was killed at Siddharth Nagar colony under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, on February 6, 2019, night, for protesting illicit relation of her husband with another woman. The body was also disposed of in haste with a view to erasing evidence.

A named FIR has been lodged with Nawda police station against four persons including Seema’s husband on the statement of her brother Manoj Kumar Singh but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.

Quoting the FIR, the SHO Nawada police station said that Seema Singh of village Puraini Kala under Agiao Bazaar police station was married to CRPF personnel Sanjay Singh, son of Suryanarayan Singh of village Baghi under Sahar police station in 2001. Sanjay Singh and his family lived at a house in Siddharthnagr locality. After having two children, Seema’s in-laws started torturing her for dowry.

In the meantime, Seema came knew about illicit relation of her husband Sanjay Singh with another woman, a close relative and she protested it. At this, her husband and other family members thrashed her and threatened with dire consequences if she dared say anything to anyone about his illicit relation with another woman. So Seema Singh was living with her parents. About five days ago, Sanjay Singh brought Seema back from Puraini Kala village in the name of purchasing of plot and allegedly killed her on February 6, 2019.
