Agut enters QFs of ATP Sofia Open

Patna : World No 18 in ATP rankings Roberto Bautista Agut, 30, Spain, entered the quarter-finals of ATP Sofia Open, a World Tour 250 points tournament, Bulgaria, on February 6, 2019, defeating World No 45 Matthew Ebden, 31, Australia, in a tough three-set contest. Agut beat Ebden 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the second round to sail into the quarter-finals.

Ebden, however, fired 11 Aces in the match to 2 by Agut. Agut committed 5 double faults to 4 by Ebden. But, Agut, the 4th seed,  won 4 break points compared to 2 by Ebden. He also won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Ebden. Agut’s winning percentage on his second serve ( 81%) was much higher than that of Ebden ( 34%).
