Huge irregularities detected in purchase of medicine, oxygen at Bagaha Sadar Hospital

Bagaha : Huge financial irregularities has been detected in the purchase of medicine and oxygen at Kamal Nath Tiwari Government Sub-Divisional Hospital, Bagaha, in West Champaran district, by a five-member inquiry committee, which has submitted its report to SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena.

The inquiry committee comprised Sub-Treasury officer Murad Ali, Executive Magistrate, Bagaha, Prakash Sinha, Cashier MNREGA, Kumar Vinit, Nazir of Bagaha Sub-Divisional office, Hariom Kumar, and Head Assistant, SDM office, Bagaha, Reyaz Ahmad.

SDM Ghanshyam Meena, who on February 6, 2019, submitted the inquiry report to DM, West Champaran,Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, said that huge irregularities had been committed in purchase of medicines and oxygen, appointment of ASHA workers besides misuse of ambulances in the name of below poverty line families and supply of poor quality of food  to pregnant women before delivery and after delivery. That apart, extra fee had allegedly been charged for cleaning hospital bed-sheets and pillow covers, the SDM said and added that excess expenditure on generator sets has also been shown.

Mohd Nuran, Cashier, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Bagaha, had allegedly transferred an incentive fund of Rs 10,87,400 in the name of his wife Asan Tara, the SDM said. The inquiry report has made Hospital Manager Rahul Singh, Deputy Superintendent of the hospital Dr S P Agrawal, Shashi Prasad Yadav, Clerk, Mohd. Nuran, Cashier, and three NGOs of Bettiah having the same residential address, responsible for the scam.
