Kangana starrer ‘Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi’ collects over Rs 76 cr in 10 days

Patna : ‘Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi’ starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role has done a business of over Rs 76 crore in the first 10 days since release in the country on January 25, 2019. The film collected over Rs 6.7 crore on its 10th day on February 10, 2019, while it had done a business of over Rs 5.2 crore on 9th day and has already been hailed as a hit.

Kangana has also made her debut as director with this film sharing the credit with Krish Jagarlamudi. Krish left the film allegedly following differences with Kangana. Actor Sonu Sood had also quit the film half-way through. Kangana virtually revived the film.

Veteran actresses Waheeda Rahmana and Asha Paresh have highly appreciated the performance of Kangana in the film saying she looks like a queen in the film. The film, a biographical period drama, had collected Rs 50 crore in its first 5 days and over Rs 61 crore in the first week. The film was made on a budget of Rs 125 crore.

The film, which was released on 3,000 screens in the country, also stars Atul Kulkarni and Jisshu Sengupta.
