Bokaro ( Jharkhand)  : A former student of DPS Bokaro Riya Kumari (2017 batch) had the rare privilege of being among the 200 NSS Volunteers out of 4 lakh to participate in the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2019. Riya Kumari, who is at present pursuing her BA Honours (Political Science) from Delhi University, was also among the 50 NSS volunteers who met the Prime Minister on January 23, 2019. She also met the President and Vice President of the country post-Republic Day celebrations.

Speaking about her alma mater, Riya said, “The holistic development that my school imparted has played a very important role in my achievement.” She added, “I am proud I was a part of DPS family and will be ever grateful to my Principal who has always been a guiding force and my teachers for grooming me to become a wholesome individual.”

Director & Principal DPS Bokaro, Dr Hemlata S Mohan, said that it is a matter of honour for us that our student is recognised at the national level on such a momentous occasion and urged all the students to draw inspiration from Riya. She also congratulated Riya and wished her success for the future.
