Gupteshwar Pandey appointed new DGP, Bihar

Patna : Bihar Government on January 31, 2019, appointed Gupteshwar Pandey, a 1987 batch IPS officer and DG, Training,  also holding additional charge of DG, Bihar Police Academy, as the new DGP of Bihar. The Home (police) department issued a notification to this effect on January 31 itself. Pandey has replaced K S Dwivedi, a 1984 batch IPS officer, who will retire on January 31, 2019, night.

Pandey will retire from service on February 28, 2021. Among the 10 IPS officers in the DG rank, Pandey was 8th in the seniority list.

The Home (police) department notification said that DG, Training, Bihar, has been transferred and appointed DGP, Bihar. The Government requested DGP Dwivedi to issue the movement order.
