Police recover two girls from brothel in Rohtas, woman arrested

Sasaram : Police recovered two teenage girl from a brothel at Maliabagh under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district on January 22, 2019, evening, and also arrested a woman allegedly involved in sex racket. Police brought the girls over to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for medical examination and also produced them before the Civil Court, Sasaram, to get their statement recorded under section 164 of CrPC.

The matter of flesh trade and human trafficking came to light after a woman linked with a Varanasi based Non-Government Organization (NGO)  lodged an FIR with police in this regard saying that her daughter has been dragged into the flesh trade at Maliabagh.

SHO, Bikramganj police station, S K Satyarthi, said that two girls were brought over from Chhattishgarh and sold out to a brothel at Maliabagh. After lodging of an FIR, police swung into action and conducted raids at the house of Vidya Sagar Chaudhary at Maliabagh and recovered the girls and also arrested a woman while her husband Jai Prakash alias Bhuar of village Bhadakudiya under Suryapura police station escaped from the scene.

In another incident, Government Rail Police (GRP), Sasaram, recovered a girl from the Sasaram railway station and handed her over to her parents at Varanasi, UP. SHO, GRP, Sasaram, said that the girl had come to Varanasi from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh along with her father to take examination but parted ways with her father at Varanasi Bus Stand and reached Sasaram. Her father informed the Varanasi police as well as the rail police. The SHO said that he contacted the Varanasi GRP and handed over the girl to her father Radheshyam Maurya of Azamgarh.
