Sitamarhi: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who on January 17, 2019, laid the foundation 400/220/132 kV Power Grid Sub- Station at village Parmanandpur under Dumra block in Sitamarhi district, said that he was in politics only to serve the people.
” Serving the people is my sole objective in politics. I am not in politics to win elections only. Good work is set to be rewarded. Take the case of electrification in Bihar,” Nitish said.
” Kya Bijli uplabdh hai na ( is electricity available to you),” Nitish asked the large gathering who roared in affirmative. The CM urged the people to maintain social harmony and alerted the youth against social media rumour mongers.
The Chief Minister of Bihar said “I appreciate the Central government for its efforts and schemes in supporting the power scenario. This is an important Sub-station for improving power position of Bihar and will be an important link to National Grid.”
Union Minister of State (I/C) for Raj Kumar Singh said that the benefits of the project would be visible after a couple of years. He lauded the role of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. The power grid station will supply uninterrupted electricity to Sitamarhi, Sheohar, East Champaran, West Champaran, Madhubani and Darbhanga districts. In Sitamarhi district, Runnisaidpur, Simra, and Sursand power sub- stations would benefit from it.
This POWERGRID Sitamarhi Sub-station is being constructed by POWERGRID Mithilanchal Transmission Limited (100% subsidiary company of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.) as part of the Eastern Region Strengthening Scheme-XXI (ERSS-XXI) project under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route. This Sitamarhi Sub-station shall be constructed along with associated 400 kV transmission line at an estimated cost of Rs 620 crore spread over about 36 acres land at village Parmanandpur in North Bihar.
Bihar Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, Enery Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Sitamarhi MP Ram Kumar Sharma, MLAs Ranju Geeta and Sunil Kumar, former minister and MLC Devesh Chandra Thakur, Sitamarhi DM Ranjeet Kumar Singh, SP Sujit Kumar, and DDC Prabhat Kumar were prominent among those present on the occasion.
The chief minister also inaugurated by remote the newly constructed women ITI, Sitamarhi, building. He also pushed the remote button to inaugurate Dumra based Janaki Indoor Stadium.
The mid- day meal cooking association members shouted slogans against union and state governments. They were showing wheat breads all along the programme. Their demands included better service condition and enhanced remuneration.
