Bettiah : A Banuchhaper Police Outpost team in West Champaran district headed by its Incharge Ranvir Singh on January 15, 2019, morning, seized three Pickup vans carrying 14 oxen on Bettiah-Mainatand road near village Auraiya during vehicle checking drive.
The drivers of the three Pickup vans managed to escape seeing police. However, police arrested a cattle smuggler identified as Mohd. Mustaffa of village Pursostampur. Police sources said that the cattle laden Pickup vans were going towards Indo-Nepal border to deliver the cattle. When police were trying to unload the cattle from the Pickup vans, three oxen were found dead due to severe cold.
