School students block Harnatand-Bhelahi road to protest absence of teachers

Bagaha : Students of Basic Middle School, Bhelahi, in Deoria- Taruyanawa panchayat under Bagaha -2 block in West Champaran on January 7, 2019, locked the school building and paralysed traffic on Harnatand-Bhelahi road for an hour by putting blockades after they found all the teachers absent when they reached the school for study.

The students were demanding action against the teachers alleging they always remain absent from the school. Soon after getting information about the development, Block Development Officer (BDO) Bagaha-2, B Giri, and SHO, Laukaria police station, Vinay Kumar Mishra, reached there and got the blockade removed and the school lock opened by assuring the students that the absent teachers would be brought to book.

Mukhiya representative Sanjay Ojhaiya and  Deputy Mukhiya Brahmdeo Mahto, who were present on the occasion, said that  they had repeatedly asked the teachers to remain present at the school but they disobeyed them. Block Education Officer (BEO), Bagaha -2, has been filed  a complaint with Laukaria police in this connection.
