Australia 258/8 in 2nd innings in 3rd test against India

Patna : Australia need to score another 141 runs to win or bat through the entire fifth day on December 30, 2018, to draw the 3rd test against India at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, with just two wickets in hand. Set a target of 399, Australia were 258/8 in 85 overs at stumps on day 4 on December 29, 2018, with Pat Cummins unbeaten on 61 in 103 balls with 5 fours and a six and Nathan Lyon batting on 6 in 38 balls.

Cummins and Lyon have so far added 43 runs for 9th wicket. Cummins has shown tremendous fighting spirit top scoring for Australia. Shaun Marsh scored 44, Travis Head 34, Usman Khwaja 33, captain Tim Paine 26, and Mitchell Starc 18.

Earlier resuming at their overnight score of 54/5, India declared their second innings at 106/8 with opener Mayank Agarwal scoring 42 with 4 fours and 2 sixes and Rishabh Pant 33 with 3 fours and a six. Pat Cummins took 6/27. India had declared their first innings at 443/7 while Australia were all out for 151 in their first innings with Jasprit Bumrah taking 6/33.
