Australia 215/8 in 2nd innings against India in 3rd test, need another 184 runs

Patna : Set a target of 399, Australia were 215/8 after 71.2 overs against India in the third session of the play on day 4 of the third test at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, with Pat Cummins batting on 28 with 2 fours and six and Nathan Lyon yet to score with 6 overs of play still left. Ravindra Jadeja has taken 3/77, Jasprit Bumrah 2/39, and Mohammad Shami 2/64. Ishant Sharma has taken one wicket each. Australia still need 184 runs to win the match.

Shaun Marsh fell to Bumrah for 44 with 4 fours and a six while Travis Head was bowled by Ishant Sharma for 34 with 2 fours. Usman Khwaja fell to Mohammad Shami for 33 with 4 fours and a six. Openers Marcus Harris and Aaron Finch were out for 13 and 3 runs respectively while captain Tim Paine fell to Jadeja for 26 with 4 fours. Mitchell Starc fell to Shami for 18 with 2 fours.

Earlier, resuming at their overnight score of 54/5, India declared their second innings at 106/8 in 37.3 overs after 52 minutes of play in the first session on day 4 with opener Mayank Agarwal scoring 42 in 102 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes and Rishabh Pant making 33 in 42 balls with 3 fours and a six. Pat Cummins took 6/27 in 11 overs while Josh Hazlewood took 2/22 in 10.3 overs.
