Patna High Court lawyer shot dead in broad daylight at Punaichak

Patna : Patna High Court lawyer Jitendra Kumar, 53, was shot dead by two bike borne unidentified criminals at Punaichak under Shastrinagar Police Station (PS), Patna, at 9.35 am when he was going to pick his senior on way to the court from his Shahbajpur, Rajivnagar, residence. The broad daylight murder of an advocate created sensation in the area and police soon reached the place of occurrence.

A Shastrinagar police station SI attributed the murder of Jitendra Kumar to a dispute over a 93 decimal plot at Khagaul. Patna. Advocate Jitendra Kumar was basically a resident of Khagaul, he said and added he was living with his elder brother Dr Raj Kumar and his family in a rented flat at Shahbajpur, Rajivnagar.

The police official said that Jitendra Kumar had strained relations with his wife for the past several years and they were living separately. The FIR was lodged by Dr Raj Kumar Kumar, he said adding the post-mortem was performed at IGIMS, Sheikhpura, Patna. The younger brother of the deceased lives in another flat, police said. Police are yet to identify the killers.
